This is Noon at the Park, an online creative space providing expansive views from a lofty perch with unobscured sightlines. I am the author of Snake in the Grass: An Everglades Invasion and Words on the Wilderness: A History of Place Names in South Florida's National Parks. Iāve spent nearly three decades working in, writing about, and speaking on protected areas, ecology, and conservation.
But I also like to write about other things. Noon at the Park provides a casual space to explore other topics and interests. This is where we explore inane, low-stakes issues like:
our unending desire to feed ducks,
our fixation on hand-made goods, and
our obsession with āadventureā
The views, opinions, and thoughts expressed here do not represent the position of any past, current, or future employers. They are simply my own dopey musings.
